We're excited to have Keara, a passionate advocate for community health, lead an interactive workshop at our 9/11 Heroes Run.
Workshop Title: Pieces of Us
About Keara: Keara is a Black, queer woman dedicated to improving the health of her communities. She uses her experience as a Community Health Worker, her studies at Oregon State University, and her unique perspective to make a real difference.
Workshop Objective: Explore culture, beyond race and ethnicity, and the power and privilege our individual identities hold that can impact our sense of safety and community.
This workshop will help you:
- Understand how your own identity influences your experiences
- Learn how power and privilege operate in our society
- Develop a deeper sense of empathy and connection with others
- Create a more inclusive and welcoming community
